Healthy Male Prisoners
Mengage offers two Healthy Male Prisoners training courses on men’s health; one for HMP staff and one for prisoners. The HMP course has been successfully piloted in a UK prison environment working with both staff and prisoners. The prisoners course is particularly suitable for prisoners interested in becoming health trainers.
The courses meets the requirement indicators of Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons document: Expectations: Criteria for assessing the treatment of and conditions for men in prisons. Version 5, 2017.
Section 2: Respect. Health, well-being and social care. 55. Prisoners are supported and encouraged to optimise their health and well-being.
Section 3: Purposeful activity. 73.2 Prisoners feel safe in education, work and activities and develop behaviours that help them to minimise reoffending (Prisoners understand how they can improve their physical and emotional health by making choices about what they eat and drink, as well as through the physical, educational and work activities they undertake).
Please contact us if you require further information about the HMP course.
Please note that other Mengage courses including our Award in Male Health and the Award in Mentoring may also be suitable for some prisoners or probationers, both to inform men taking part, assist in rehabilitation, and also to enable them to positively benefit others. Please contact Mengage for further information.
